Reminiscent of the Gilded Age, this mansion in Manhattan, NYC was designed as a museum with specific guidelines. During my visit, I found the Frick Collection presenting contemporary works alongside its collection.

Originally a medieval fortress, and established in 1793 as a museum by the French Republic, the Louvre contains great works of art from the birth of ancient civilization to the XIXth century

The museum explores African artistic expression from ancient to contemporary times and includes ceramics, textiles, furniture, masks and musical instruments as well as the arts of painting, printmaking and sculpture
